After a church vote on March 20, Clifford Baptist Church is excited to announce that Pastor Jeffrey Campbell will become the new Senior Pastor. Jeffrey has served as the part-time Youth Pastor at Clifford since 2008.
Reverend Jeffrey W. Campbell has been a part of the Amherst Community for his entire life. He graduated from Amherst County High School in 2000. Jeffrey attended Central Virginia Community College earning a Certificate of Machine Operations and holds a Journeyman’s Card in Machining. Jeffrey was a member of Poplar United Methodist Church growing up. He served as Lay Supply Pastor at Wesleyan United Methodist Church for two and a half years and Poplar United Methodist for one and a half years. Jeffrey joined Clifford Baptist Church in 2006 and began working in various ministries. In 2008 Jeffrey became the first Youth Pastor on staff at Clifford and was ordained by the church later that year. He has served as Youth Pastor at Clifford for the past 14 years. He has also been employed by BWX Technologies in Lynchburg for 16 years. He worked as Machinist for 10 years and for the past 6 years has been a Front Line Manager. Jeffrey has been married to Terri for almost 17 years. Together they have 2 sons Levi and Ethan. In his spare time Jeffrey enjoys camping, sports, trying his hand as a pit master and spending time with his active family.
Terri is also an Amherst native graduating from Amherst County High School 2002. Terri has been employed with Amherst County Public Schools since November 2005 working as an administrative assistant in several schools within the division. She is currently working at Amherst Middle School. She is also a sports enthusiast and enjoys coaching middle school volleyball and watching her sons Levi and Ethan on the basketball court. She has served as a Sunday school nursery worker at Clifford Baptist for the past 8 years and has enjoyed ministering to the youth of Clifford along with Jeffrey. In her free time she enjoys camping, kayaking, and spending time with her family.
Jeffrey’s vision for Clifford Baptist Church is to continue to build upon the strong foundation that has been laid. Paul says “we reach forward…we press toward the goal.” We must build faith within the body, bring hope to our community, and be Jesus in our world. My prayer is that we will walk and work together in Christ and people will be changed by the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Jeffrey will serve as the Senior Associate Pastor from April 4 until June 6 when Senior Pastor Mike Fitzgerald will step down after 40 years of service as the Senior Pastor.
