After a church vote on October 23, Clifford Baptist Church is excited to announce that Nathan Williams will become the new Next Generation Pastor.
Nathan J. Williams has been active in Christian ministry his whole life. Raised in rural central Virginia as a Baptist minister’s son, he graduated dual enrolled from William Campbell Highschool and Central Virginia Community college in 2017. He went on to graduate from Liberty University with a B.S. in Business Administration in 2019. During his time at Liberty, he actively served with youth groups and spent time as a church intern in Forest, VA. In addition, he invested his time with the ministry at CrossRoads Camp and Conference Center from 2015 through 2019. Here he passionately served to share the Gospel and love of Christ with children and teens in several roles, including Ministry Coordinator and Program Manager his last two years respectively. Nathan began attending Clifford at the end of 2018 where he quickly became a volunteer with the youth. He also has taught Clifford’s Discipleship & Growth Sunday School class for almost two years. While having the call to serve in ministry, Nathan has worked in a variety of roles during the pandemic to provide for his family. He currently works at Davidson, Doyle, & Hilton in Lynchburg as a Staff Accountant. He began seminary coursework in Fall 2021 and hopes to earn a Master’s in Divinity. Overall, Nathan’s greatest joy is the saving work of Christ and sharing this good news with others. While he deeply enjoys discussing his faith and other ideas with friends and people he meets, Nathan also loves listening to and creating music, reading, hiking/running, and spending time outdoors.
Nathan and his wife Grace Williams (previously Martin) met while serving in ministry together and were married in 2020. Grace is an Amherst native and has grown up attending Clifford. She graduated dual enrolled from Amherst County Highschool and Central Virginia Community College in 2018. She then attended James Madison University, earning a B.A. in Communication Studies in 2020. Grace works as a wedding photographer, dance instructor, as well as runs a clay jewelry business. She shares a passion with Nathan for ministry and serves as Clifford’s Sunday School Director, leads our Facebook Live hosting team, and volunteers alongside Nathan in our youth group.
A message from Nathan
My vision for ministering to Clifford is to help our church provide loving support and a solid foundation for young people and families facing an increasingly challenging culture with the aim that as many as possible come to find joy, fulfillment, and life in Christ. I pray God continues to have his hand of blessing on us as we work together to raise the next generation to follow Christ, so Clifford can continue to have a lasting Kingdom impact in our community for generations to come.
